Taliban attacks Kandhar airport in Afghanistan, 10 killed
Kabul, Dec 9: At least ten militants were killed and others injured after Taliban terrorists, equipped with AK-47s and wearing military uniform attacked Kandhar airport in Afghanistan, media reported on Wednesday.
Taliban militants attacked the heavily-fortified Kandhar airport compound in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday evening, reported Al-Jazeera.
Scores of passengers including Indians have been stranded at the Kandhar airport.
Nato and Afghan military headquarters are located in the Kandhar airport compound.
Military personnel and civilians have also been killed in the attack. However, details of the military and civilian casualties are yet to be confirmed.
Taliban storms police station in Afghanistan
The Taliban militants attacked a police station in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandhar on Monday, triggering a heavy gunfight, a police source said.
Militant violence has increased across Afghanistan since the departure of most Nato and US forces last year.
