Radio presenter announces UK PM David Cameron’s death by mistake
London, Jan 12: A radio presenter in UK mistakenly announced death of Prime Minister David Cameron instead of musical icon David Bowie, media reported.
Presenter Fiona Winchester made the gaffe while reading news for Heart FM on Monday.
"David Cameron has died," she said, before quickly realising her mistake. PM Cameron himself tweeted about the musical icon after his death, reported the Metro.co.uk.
British singer-songwriter David Bowie died at the age of 69 after battling cancer for 18 months late Sunday.
One of the most influence musical artistes of his generation, Bowie is known for his camelion-like qualities as a performer that often blurred the lines between genders in an illustrious career that spanned four decades.
The musician, whose full name was David Robert Jones, was born in Brixton, UK on January 8, 1947.
