Peter Higgs, Francois Englert win 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics
84-year-old Peter Higgs is from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and 80-year-old François Englert is from the University Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. In 1964, they proposed the theory independently of each other.
In July 2012, both scientists started their experiment on the so-called God particle at the at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, outside Geneva in Switzerland. Their experiment drew a lot of attention across the world.
Now, they will share a prize of $1.2 million that will be awarded in Stockholm December 10.
