The French security forces have killed two of the gunmen who were behind the Paris attacks in which over 40 persons had been killed. The two attackers had taken several persons hostage at the Bataclan concert venue. The security forces who gathered in large numbers stormed the concert venue and killed the two attackers.
The French authorities stated that attacks were carried out in seven different places. While two have been killed, it is still unclear if there are many more attackers. Initial reports suggested that there could be several gunmen.
One eye witness had told a media outlet that one of the attackers at the Bataclan concert venue had shouted Allahu akbar before firing into crowd.
There was automatic gun fire which was heard and it was suspected that the gunmen were using AK-47 rifles. Several persons had been taken hostage and were being held up at the concert venue, French media reported.
Meanwhile the The French channel iTele, quoting un-named officials at the Bataclan, says there are "dozens" of fatalities inside the club.
While the operation at Bataclan is reportedly over, French security forces continue to hunt for more attackers. The borders have been sealed and a major operation is on. Earlier over 40 persons were killed in gun and bomb attacks at Paris forcing the government to declare a state of national emergency. There were also reports of a suicide bomber earlier, but there has been no confirmation on that so far. Paris residents have been asked to stay indoors while military personnel were deployed across the city.
