Islamabad, Oct 21: Pakistan on Monday said that it was unfortunate to hear India say that Kashmir is its integral part, a Times Now report said. The Pakistani statement came within 24 hours of the Indian foreign minister Salman Khurshid's assertion that Kashmir is an integral part of India.

According to Pakistan, the reality is different from what the Indian side thinks.

Nawaz Sharif sought US intervention in Kashmir but the latter ruled it out

Khurshid's statement came in the wake of Islamabad's effort to convince the USA to interfere in Kashmir. The proposal has been made by Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his ongoing visit to the USA. Washington, however, has refused to interfere in Kashmir.

On Monday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also warned Pakistan against continuous ceasefire violations and said India would have to use force in retaliation.

Pakistan has been backing an intense armed campaign along the borders in the state. Indian troops have dealt with at least 25 infiltration attempts in the last eight days.
