Pak court upholds 200-year sentence of 2 terror facilitators

Lahore, Feb 25: A Pakistani court on Wednesday upheld the 200-year sentence of two persons for facilitating a suicide attack on a Pakistan Air Force bus in 2007 that killed 8 officials.

A two-member benchof the Lahore High Court dismissed mercy appeals of Omer Farooq and Mohsin alias Bugti, who were previously convicted by an Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) in Sargodha for facilitating the suicide bomber who rammed his motor cycle in the PAF bus, killing eight officials and injuring others.

ATC Sargodha had sentenced the two facilitators to life imprisonment eight times (200 years) each. The two-member bench reiterated ATC Sargodha's sentence and jailed the two convicts to life imprisonment 'eight times' each, Dawn reported.

The bus was carrying PAF staff from Mushaf Mir Airbase to Kirana Ammunition Depot when the bomber struck the bus in Sargodha city. 50 PAF personnel and civilians were in the bus which was badly damaged in the attack.
