Accra (Ghana) Sept 24: Days after a Somalia-based terror group members killed about 67 people in a shopping mall in Nairobi in Kenya, reports here suggest Nigerian government has also beefed up its security at malls.

Emmanuel Adeniye, an engineer in Nigerian capital Abuja told IANS over the phone, that "security forces have been placed in front of some of the shops that I have gone to make some purchases".

Nigera is still struggling to counter the activities of Boko Haram, another terror group that has been engaged in several bombings for over two years across in the north.

Somali militant group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi, while stating it was in retribution for recent Kenyan military action against the group in Somalia.

The 67 killed include three Indians, while five attackers were also killed. Nearly 200 people, including four Indians, have been injured, and many of them are receiving treatment in hospitals all over Nairobi.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, who announced the end of the four-day siege Tuesday evening, has vowed to continue to fight against the Somali militants.
