Naved’s arrest exposes Pakistan: Media maintains silence on the issue
New Delhi, Aug 6: Arrest of a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir received wide attention in Indian media on the other hand Pakistani media maintained silence on the issue.
Naved, who was arrested alive on Wednesday from Udhampur, admitted on camera that he came from Pakistan to kill Indians for revenge.
Usually major happenings in India get wide coverage in Pakistani media. Yakub Memon hanging and train derailment in India were widely covered by them.
Pakistan media continued to run programmes on ceasefire violations and claimed that three people had died in firing from the Indian side.
According to media reports, fear of being termed as anti-national, Pakistan decided not to show and write anything over the arrest of Naved in Jammu and Kashmir.
If Mohammad Naved is a juvenile, he needs to prove it
Pakistan government owned Inter-Services Public Relations did not issue any release on the arrest of Naved.
Confirming the news that their media has downplayed the news, senior Pakistani journalist Mariana Baabar said, "Pakistani media, specially print media, has not reported the news. There has been only a few fleeting references in channels."
However, Baabar said that this case is not like that of Ajmal Kasab. "If India has proof of Usman's nationality, it should share it," she demanded.
