New Delhi, Feb 14: US Ambassador to India Nancy Powell met BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar on Thursday. The move by the USA to engage with the leader whom it had denied visa in 2005 for his alleged involvement in anti-Muslim pogroms in Gujarat in 2002. The two, however, did not speak on the visa issue and instead focussed on the recent diplomatic row over the Devyani Khobragade affair, terrorism and Gujarat's role in training Afghan officials and the rural women of the violence-ravaged nation in self-employment avenues.

The meeting between Powell and Modi received a wide coverage in media across the world.
