The local police initially prepared themselves for an armed robbery in the mall. The effort to flush out the terrorists, including a woman, was not over even after two days and the death toll was expected to rise more.
Presidential spokesperson Manoah Esipisu was reportedly defensive while giving interview to news channels over the gruesome incident that saw the death of many foreign nationals, including two Indians. He said the way of reacting to a terror attack is not always uniform.
