Moscow, Mar 4: A woman who beheaded a minor girl and paraded through the streets holding an infant's severed head high in the air near a metro station said she did it to avenge Russian airstrikes that killed Muslims in Syria.
This has been revealed in her first explanation in a video posted online.
The nanny identified as 38 year-old Gyulchehra Bobokulova, from Uzbekistan murdered the girl on Monday, who is believed to have learning difficulties and had been under her care.
Russia started carrying out air strikes in Syria against opponents of President Bashar al-Assad in September last year.
The nany was a migrant working in the Russian capital without a work permit.
