No improvement in Schumacher's condition
In a hospital statement, signed by a neurosurgeon, an anaesthesiologist and the hoospital's deputy director, Marc Penaud, it was revealed that "he remains critical".
However, it is still unclear whether the 44-year old is still in coma. Resort officials said that Schumacher fell on his head and hit a rock while skiing off-piste in Meribel on Sunday. They also added that the celebrity was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was taken to Grenoble University Hospital Center where he was declared out of danger.
Schumacher was said to be conscious when he was rescued from the site. However, the situation was sensed to be grim when orthopaedic and trauma surgeon Gerard Saillant travelled from Paris to the hospital to examine him.
Meanwhile, Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm said,"We ask for understanding that we cannot give running updates on his condition. He wore a helmet and was not alone but with his 14-year old son."
Condolences and prayers flew in from various sports personalities and other F1 drivers.
