New York, Sept 8: 18-time former Grand slam champion Martina Navratilova surprised her partner Julia Lemigova after she proposed her on the big screen during the semi-final of the US Open on Saturday.

Navratilova popped the big question after the match between Kei Nishikori and Novak Djokovic ended. She appeared on the big screen and proposed to her partner and received a smiling yes.

Navratilova and Lemigova have been together for six years. Navratilova said: "I have been waiting for the right time to ask Julia to marry me. I thought this was the right place and the right time to pop the question and thankfully I got a 'yes'.

In the video, Navratilova goes down on her knees and proposes to Lemigova.

Following the proposal, Navratilova took to Twitter to thank everyone for their wishes-
