Man beheads mother on NY street, commits suicide

New York, Oct 30: According to Long Island police, a professor was found decapitated on the suburban New York street and allege that the murder was committed by her 35 year old son. The latter is said to have committed suicide by walking on the path of a running train.

The two dead people have been identified by the police as 66-year-old Patricia Ward and her 35-year-old son, Derek Ward. The police also said that Patricia was killed in her apartment and then her body was dragged on the streets. The corpse was found at 8 pm on Tuesday. A knife was recovered in the apartment.

Police further informed that Derek Ward was arrested a few years ago for gun possession and criminal mischief. He also had a psychiatrict history. On the other hand, Patricia was a popular assistant professor.
