Malayalam movie crew escapes Nairobi mall seige

Nairobi, Sept 24: Just as the world is reeling under the news of the Nairobi mall attack, reports suggest that a Malayalam movie crew escaped the seige due to an overcast sky.

The crew, which was shooting in Nairobi could have been trapped if not for the cloudy weather. Three members of the crew, including the director, the cameraman and the associate director had visited the mall just few hours before the attack took place.

They were there to identify suitable locations within the building for the shoot. According to a report in the Malayala Manorama, the crew was called back after they received a call from the lead actor of the movie Indrajith asking them to leave the mall before it rained.

The actor again called within half an hour asking if they had left the mall or not. By that time the attack had already begun.

The crew escaped the terror attack thanks to cloudy skies

The crew, that has been in Nairobi now for few days was shooting for the film Naaku Pente Naaku Taka. The crew is still in Nairobi and will return only after they finish the shoot.

Earlier two Malayalam movies were shot in Africa. One is titled Escape from Uganda, whereas the other one is the one currently being shot in Kenya.
