Malala's 'Nobel' hands extend to re-build UN schools in Gaza; donates $50,000
While collecting the World's Children's Prize, Yousafzai said that she would give away the prize money toward the cause.
She said,"Innocent Palestinian children have suffered terribly and for too long We must all work to ensure Palestinian boys and girls, and all children everywhere, receive a quality education in a safe environment. Because without education, there will never be peace."
Yousafzai championed child rights movement in Afghanistan at a very tender age. She was shot in the head by Taliban militants who were not happy with her educational activism.
Since then, she had gone to promote education globally. The schools were destroyed during the 7 week Israeli bombing in July and August. THis left 2,100 Palestinians and 72 Israelis dead.
