California, June 18: Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) faced serious challenges as a customer, Devorise Dixon, claimed that he was served a fried "rat" and not chicken in one of the outlets of KFC in California, US.

KFC officials, however, overruled such allegations. Officials also claimed that they have been trying to contact Dixon but he did not respond to their calls.

In his first statement, when Dixon had posted the image of suspicious "fried rat", Dixon had claimed, "DON'T EAT FAST FOOD!!! I WENT TO KFC YESTERDAY AND BOUGHT A 3PIECE CHICKEN TENDER. AS I BIT INTO IT I NOTICED THAT IT WAS VERY HARD AND RUBBERY WHICH MADE ME LOOK AT IT. AS I LOOKED DOWN AT IT I NOTICED THAT IT WAS WAS IN A SHAPE OF A RAT WITH A TAIL. IT SENT DEEP CHILLS THROUGHOUT MY WHOLE BODY! I'VE BEEN FEELING WEIRD EVER SINCE. I BOUGHT THIS IN COMPTON, CA ON WILMINGTON AND 120TH. I'VE NEVER SEEN CHICKEN LIKE THIS BEFORE ITS SICK!!!"

Later he wrote, "WENT BACK TO KFC YESTERDAY AND SPOKE TO THE MANAGER SHE SAID IT IS A RAT AND APOLOGIZED, IT'S TIME FOR A LAWYER!!! BESAFE DON'T EAT FAST FOOD !!!"

However, KFC in its press release, says, "Our chicken tenders often vary in size and shape, and we currently have no evidence to support this allegation. We have extended the opportunity to have an independent lab evaluate the product at our own expense, but the customer refuses to provide the product in question."

KFC also claimed that the entire controversy over the "fried rat" incident might be a hoax. Despite KFC's statement, Dixon has been garnering immense support from people across the world.
