A report in The Telegraph UK (read here) says that James Foley may have volunteered to be murdered. His brother Michael said that James may have sacrificed his life for others. "He's always been that way. He truely cares more about others than himself.

God forbid there's others. But you can see just from the clips, from the video, that he wasn't afraid," he said.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) uploaded a video earlier this week which showed James in an orange jumpsuit kneeling next to a masked man. The video read a message from Foley stating that 'US was responsible for his death' and later showed the masked man beheading him.

Foley was a freelance photojournalist who was kidnapped in Syria in 2012. His whereabouts were not known untill the video of his beheading emerged earlier this week. ISIS also threatened in the video to kill another American journalist if the US forces didn't pull out of Iraq.
