Israeli PM Netanyahu follows, un-follows Iranian erotica feed

Jerusalem, Oct 15: In a major gaffe, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu became a topic of joke for Iranians as he "briefly followed and then unfollowed" the erotica Twitter feed (@persianhotbook).

Netanyahu, who is always at loggerheads with Iran, was caught in an embarrassing moment when his official Twitter account (@Netanyahu) subscribed to "the first library of hot sex books in the Persian language" and the Iranians got the opportunity to poke fun at him.

According to Times of Israel report, Netanyahu unsubscribed from the Iranian sex site on Sunday morning after seven hours of following it on the social media Twitter.

But by then, the amused Iranian Twitterati had taken and shared the screen shots and enjoyed a joke at Netanyahu's expense.

Presently, Netanyahu is following 81 Twitter feeds and has 1, 78, 508 followers on Twitter.

@persianhotbook is a portal for Iranian sex literature. Before the Netanyahu's news broke out about following of Iranian erotica feed, the site had just 15 followers, but after the news went viral, it has managed to get more than 200 followers in a short span of time!

Netanyahu is following 81 Twitter feeds and has 1, 78, 508 followers on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the PM's spokesperson Mark Regev said, "I'm glad to say the Prime Minister's Office has no connection to this."

According to the Likud( Netanyahu's centre-right political party) Central Committee that officially manages Netanyahu's Twitter account said that the Iranian porn site follow was a "malfunction" that was being investigated.

Last week, Netanyahu told the BBC Persian that Iranians should overthrow their government so they can be free to wear jeans.

Then, Iranians 'ridiculed' him when thousands posted pictures of themselves wearing jeans, listening to western music and others posed in Iranian shops with wall-to-wall denim.
