F-16 jet crash: Bahraini pilot survives, says Saudi Arabia
Riyadh, Dec 30: A Bahraini pilot survived the jet crash while flying for a kingdom-led coalition battling Shiite rebels in Yemen on Wednesday, media reported.
"The F-16 jet crashed in Jizan province due to technical failure," said Saudi Arabia military official.
The Saudi-led coalition backing Yemen's internationally recognized government has been battling the Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, since March.
According to UN figures, the war in Yemen has killed at least 5,884 people since March, when fighting escalated after the Saudi-led coalition began launching airstrikes targeting the rebels.
