Ecuador earthquake toll touches 350; over 1,500 injured

The country was struggling to come with terms with the aftermath of a devastating quake measuring 7.8 on Richter Scale while aides were pouring in from various parts of the world to help the devastated country regather its life.
More than 1,500 people were injured in the quake.
Houses were damaged while power supply was disrupted as a result of the quake in the city of Guayaquil. Emergency was declared in six provinces---Guayas, Manabi, Santo Domingo, Los Rios, Esmeraldas and Galapagos.
No reports of damage were received from Quito, 173 kilometres from the quake epicentre.
Pope Francis, in a prayer on Sunday, appealed to the people to pray for those affected by the earthquakes in Ecuador and Japan.
