California, Oct 20: After Garba, dandiya night, now Association of Indian Students (AIS) at University of Southern California (USC) is all set to celebrate Diwali. The AIS will celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, on Sunday, Oct 26.

AIS began its academic year with much awaited Garba and Dandiya Night. Filled with dance and devotion, Garba 2014 was a major hit featuring Mansukh Ghelani & Group.

The celebration kick-started with Devi puja. The typical Indian Garba atmosphere was recreated with colourful decoration in USC's stunning Ballroom of Ronald Tutor Campus Center.

Judges of best dress competition had a tough time to choose the best one since there were lot of people who really dressed up to the occasion.
Food was a major luring factor for any event organized by AIS.

Close to five hundred people including students, faculty, alumni and representatives from other student organizations on campus turned up to the event.

In wake of the natural calamity that affected Jammu and Kashmir, AIS collected funds from many of its members who have gone abroad for further studies. The donations have been sent to India Development and Relief Fund, a US based public charity organization.
