After Garba, Dandiya, now Association of Indian Students in California to celebrate Diwali
California, Oct 20: After Garba, dandiya night, now Association of Indian Students (AIS) at University of Southern California (USC) is all set to celebrate Diwali. The AIS will celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, on Sunday, Oct 26.
AIS began its academic year with much awaited Garba and Dandiya Night. Filled with dance and devotion, Garba 2014 was a major hit featuring Mansukh Ghelani & Group.
The celebration kick-started with Devi puja. The typical Indian Garba atmosphere was recreated with colourful decoration in USC's stunning Ballroom of Ronald Tutor Campus Center.

competition
had
a
tough
time
to
choose
the
best
one
since
there
were
lot
of
people
who
really
dressed
up
to
the
occasion.
Food
was
a
major
luring
factor
for
any
event
organized
by
AIS.
Close to five hundred people including students, faculty, alumni and representatives from other student organizations on campus turned up to the event.
In wake of the natural calamity that affected Jammu and Kashmir, AIS collected funds from many of its members who have gone abroad for further studies. The donations have been sent to India Development and Relief Fund, a US based public charity organization.
