"We spilled our blood to carve out this Bangladesh. We love this Bangladesh. This country is ours. So, we want to take this country forward in a better way. Bangladesh is advancing. Bangladesh will move ahead," Hasina said as she made the call at an awards ceremony at the Osmani Memorial auditorium Tuesday.

She invited all to the National Parade Square Wednesday morning to set record by singing the national anthem.

As many as 300,000 people are expected to sing at the event in Dhaka.

The event is not restricted to the national capital only. The mass singing programme will be held in other cities and towns as well.

'Amar Sonar Bangla Ami Tomai Bhalobashi' (My Golden Bengal, I Love You) had been chosen as the country's national anthem in a mass rally at Dhaka's Paltan ground March 3, 1971.
