Musharraf cannot travel abroad
Islamabad, Dec 16: The Sindh High Court on Monday reserved its judgment on former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf's plea for removing his name from the country's exit control list.

Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto were hearing Musharraf's petition for removal of his name from the exit control list, Geo News reported.

During the hearing, Justice Shah said that if Musharraf wanted his name removed from the list, he should approach the government.

Attorney General Munir A. Malik and Musharraf's counsel A.Q. Halepota appeared before the court.

Musharraf wanted to travel abroad and inquire about his mother's health

Halepota said the former army chief's mother was sick and he wanted to go abroad to enquire about her health, but in view of an order passed by the Sindh High Court, the government has put his name on the exit control list.

Justice Shah, however, said that the court has not given any order to put Musharraf's name on the list.

Musharraf's counsel said this same bench had restrained him from travelling abroad until his appearance in the trial court and Musharraf has already obtained bail in all the cases against him.

Attorney General Malik said the proceeding against Musharraf under Article 6 of the constitution were also under way.

He said this bench of the Sindh High Court does not have the authority to hear this petition.
