Beijing, Sept 26: In what can be described as "medical miracle", surgeons in China have successfully 'grown' a new nose on the forehead of a man.
According to reports, 22-year-old man nicknamed as Xiaolian from China's Fujian province suffered severe nasal trauma following a car accident last year and his subsequent treatment caused his nasal cartilage to corrode. So, doctors at Fuzhou hospital created a new nose as his original nose was deformed and infected.
Surgeons said that after nine months of growth, the nose is in good shape and well-developed and the transplant will be performed soon.
Doctors treating Xialian hope that he will be able to breathe in normal way as he earlier used to.
Last year, a British man also underwent a nose surgery and a new nose was created on one of his arms.
