London, April 20: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan participated in election campaign in Britain election, media reported on Monday.
Junior Bachchan campaigned for Labour Party candidate Keith Vaz, who is contesting as the Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Leicester East, on Sunday. Crowd thronged to get a look at the heart-throb actor who came to boost his election campaign, leicestermercury.co.uk reported.

Vaz was the first person of Asian origin to sit in the House of Commons since 1922. He was Britain's Minister for Europe under Tony Blair.
He was first elected in June 1987 and was subsequently re-elected as a Member of Parliament 6 times.
According to media reports, Vaz has been a family friend of Bachchan family.

"I am absolutely delighted Abhishek is here in Leicester, I have known him for many years. I'm glad he's fitted it in, but I would ask him not to stand in Leicester East, as I'd have no chance," Vaz was quoted as saying.
