Attari, Punjab: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday handed over a 12-year-old boy, who had inadvertently crossed into India, to Pakistani border guards.

BSF Deputy Inspector General R.P.S. Jaswal said that the boy, Kashim, who belongs to a village in Narowal district of Pakistan's Punjab province, had recently inadvertently crossed over into India from the international border between both countries.

India and Pakistan have a 553-km long international border in Punjab.

BSF officials questioned the boy and did not find anything suspicious in his entering India. He was handed over to Pakistan Rangers officers at a flag meeting of border guards of both sides on Monday.

The BSF has handed over 16 Pakistani nationals who crossed over into India inadvertently along the border.

India and Pakistan have a 553-km long international border in Punjab which is fenced with electrified barbed wire on the Indian side.
