Bangladesh to go to polls on Jan 5 amidst clashes, violence
This has resulted in the winners being declared already in more than half of the national assembly seats. The Opposition led by Bangladesh Nationalist party boycotted the elections stating that the whole election process is too heavily tilted in favour of the ruling party.
The Opposition has accused Awami League led by Hasina Sheikh that the party is standing in the way of elections. Hasina however denied all allegations saying that the party was not trying to influence the elections.
Meanwhile clashes broke out in the country, that loomed over the entire election process. Many were injured in the violence and fresh incidents of violence was reported on Saturday.
