Bangladesh Navy detains 25 Indian fishermen, seizes two trawlers
Dhaka, April 11: As many as 25 Indian fishermen have been detained by the Bangladesh Navy from 90 nautical miles off the coast of Bagerhat's Mongla sea port, media reported on Saturday.
Police Sub Inspector Monjur Elahi said that 25 Indian fishermen were detained and two trawlers were seized by the navy, bdnews24.com reported.
Those detained are Anil Dais, Ruhi Das, Liton Das, Manbasi Das, Shankar Das, Nibedan Das, Lakhhan Das, Shyamol Das, Jagmohan Das, Gourango Das, Subash Das, Monohari Das, Jyotish Das, Hariram Das, Anil Das, Liton Das, Jatra Das, Sriram Das, Gopal Das, Raimohom Das, Bhagirath Das and Kalachad Das.
"All of them are resident of South Chabbish Pargana District of India's West Bengal,"said SI Manjur.

They were detainedduring a routine patrol on Friday. Navy vessel BNS Surma found the two trawlers-‘FB Maa Gouri' and ‘Saraswati'- on Bangladeshi waters and detained them, the police officer said.
A case has been filed against them by Navy's Petty Officer M Iqbal Hossain, he added.
