Detroit, Jan 14: Association of Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA) finally announced the dates when it will conduct 'Kannada Conference'. The three-day event, which is held once in every two years, will be held on Sept 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2016.
The 9th edition of the event will be held in 'Atlantic City' in New Jersey. More than five thousand guests across the world are expected to attend the 9th edition of Kannada Conference by AKKA.
The event registration process for public will begin on Jan 15, 2016 on the auspicious occasion of Makara Sankranti.
The event, which is scheduled to be held in the summer holidays in America, is expected to attract lot of Kannada enthusiasts from all over the world.
Various events centered around Kannada literature, music, art, culture, food, business etc, are expected to offer a high-quality, culturally-rich, informative and enjoyable experience for the entire family.
What is AKKA?
AKKA was established in 1998 by the Kannada speaking people living in the United States of America and Canada at a convention held in Phoenix.
Its aim is to integrate, coordinate, network and unite the activities of all Kannadigas and Kannada Kootas in North America for the promotion and preservation of Kannada language and culture.
Among its charity work, AKKA has donated considerable sum to build a section of Sankara Eye Hospital in Bangalore.
