Jakarta, Dec 31: As the hopes turned into hopelessness for the families of the passengers of the ill-fated AirAsia QZ8501, the devastated family members of an air hostess shared their grief with The Malaysian Insider.
Stewardess' family waiting for her body
As per a report published in The Malaysian Insider, 22-year-old Khairunisa Haidar Fauzi, also known as known as Nisa, wanted to celebrate the New Year in Surabaya, her father told the newspaper. [AirAsia tragedy: Bodies recovered, DNA samples collected for identification]
Nisa's family has accepted the bitter reality that she is gone forever and is now hoping that her body is retrieved, so that they can perform her last rites.
There were reports that the rescue operation team had recovered a uniform of the stewardess and her family members are hoping that the uniform belongs to her.
The DNA samples from Nisa's parents have been collected for the identification process, the report said.
Her elder brother described her as a cheerful person, a good girl, who used to get along very well with everyone and was very helping. Nisa , who as the youngest among three siblings had joined AirAsia last year.
Two weeks before the disaster, Nisa had even posted a pic on Instagram with a hand-written note, "I Love You from 38,000 ft".
