After Sharif, who will be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan?
The leader of the PML(N), he is currently the minister of planning and development.
Nawaz Sharif stepped down as the Prime Minister of Pakistan after being ordered to do so by the Supreme Court. The Pakistan court which was hearing the Panama papers case held that he was deemed unfit to hold office and also barred him from being part of electoral politics for five years.
Who will be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan? Sharif was seen prepping his brother Shahbaz Sharif for the post. However there are two more contenders to the post.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif:
He is the defence minister of Pakistan and a member of the PML(N). India would however not be pleased with this appointment due to his remarks post the Uri attack. He had said that Pakistan would use nuclear weapons against India, in an interview with a Pakistani television channel. There are reports that he may be an interim PM for 45 days following which he would make way for Shahbaz Sharif.
