Rajnath Singh faces threat from 4 terrorist outfits
New Delhi, Aug 3: Rajnath Singh, the Union Home Minister who will take part in the SAARC ministerial conference on Wednesday, faces a threat from four terrorist outfits.
According to Intelligence Bureau, the threat perception is high from the Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Taliban and the al Qaeda in the Sub-Continent.

Ahead of Singh's visit to Islamabad, India had conveyed to Pakistan about this threat perception. Pakistan in turn has assured India of security. The Home Ministry had said that it is the responsibility of Pakistan to ensure the safety of the minister.
Threat perception high
Rajnath Singh is a highly protected individual. He faces a threat perception from various groups. However, the four groups mentioned above pose the maximum threat to the Home Minister.
A few days back Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed had threatened protests across Pakistan in a bid to send a message to the Home Minister of India.
India has made it clear to Pakistan that security is the utmost concern and all protests should be barred. No protests should take place near the venue where the conference is being held and if Pakistan fails to prevent it, India would take strong exception to the same.
Further, Singh will not raise the Kashmir issue. He would stick to cross border terrorism and the stability of the region.
On asking why the Kashmir issue did not make it to the agenda, a Home Ministry official said that it is our internal matter and we will handle it. "There is no need to debate it with Pakistan. With Pakistan only the issue of cross border terrorism and infiltrations into Kashmir will be discussed," the officer also said.
