In today's list, barring the West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee and Patnaik from Odisha, the rest of the bachelor CMs are all from the BJP.

Patnaik has often told his voters that he remained single to serve the people. He has drawn comparisons to the Congress and said that he remaining single only meant that he would serve the people and there is no danger of a family rule in Odisha.
