Yogendra Yadav's Swaraj India to be launched in Karnataka
The new party, with its 'clean image' hopes to get the same attention that AAP did during the previous elections.
After announcing its debut in Delhi civic polls, psephologist Yogendra Yadav's Swaraj India is all set for a launch in Karnataka. The party that was founded by the former Aam Aadmi Party leader and social activist will see a formal launch on March 25 in Bengaluru's Freedom park. Yadav, Prashant Bhushan and novelist Devanur Mahadeva are expected to be in attendance.
As Karnataka gears up for assembly polls in 2018, Swaraj India has announced its launch in the state but has remained mum about fielding candidates for the polls. It may be recalled that the AAP had made its debut in Karnataka assembly polls in 2013. This time around, Swaraj India, with its 'clean image' hopes to get the same attention that AAP did during the previous elections.
Yadav, who rebelled against the AAP launched Swaraj India as his political platform along with fellow AAP rebel Bhushan. Mahadeva is expected to be the party's face in the state. Delhi's civic poll is the party's first venture into electoral politics.
