Hyderabad, June 22: In a shocking outcome of the yoga day, an ayurveda doctor passed away during yoga session on Sunday, June 22.
Dr Veera Reddy, a retired government ayurveda doctor died while practising yoga at the Sahara Estate community hall in Vanasthalipuram.
It has been reported that 60-year-old Dr Reddy was very excited about the event on Sunday morning. In his excitement he snubbed the advice of yoga trainers and inhaled water through one nostril to take it out from the other (jalneti).
An eyewitness of the incident was quoted as saying, "The water never came out and he fell on the floor and rolled about. We could not do anything."
It has been reported that he had a major heart attack as the water might have affected his breathing. Family members and other community members rushed Dr Reddy to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
International Yoga Day-led by India has been observed on Sunday, June 21. Millions across the world participated in the event which was broadcasted Live on television channels.
