Yasin Bhatkal's wife gets him into trouble once again

New Delhi, July 4: A phone call made by Yasin Bhatkal, the head of the Indian Mujahideen from Hyderabad jail is under scrutiny. The call incidentally was made to his wife and incidentally this is the second time he is getting into trouble for speaking with her over a cell phone.

While investigations are on to ascertain as to who provided him with the cell phone, intercepts by the central intelligence bureau would suggest that the call made by him refers to the ISIS.

He is heard telling his wife that he will be free from jail with the help of Damascus. This is interestingly the second time that Yasin Bhatkal finds himself speaking about an escape plan.

The first time something to this effect occurred was when he was lodged in the jail at Delhi where he was overheard saying that his friends would stage a hijack and have him released from jail.

If it has been ascertained during an investigation that he had indeed made such a call, then he is likely to be shifted out that prison and taken to some other jail.

Bhatkal's wife gets him into trouble once again

Yasin Bhatkal was caught during this conversation he was having with his wife. It is a fact that he is extremely attached to his wife. However this call appears to have got him into trouble. The last time he got into trouble was when he was speaking to his wife from Nepal.

It was on the basis of this call that the Intelligence Bureau tracked down his location and chased him to Nepal. He had planned on crossing over into Pakistan through Nepal. On reaching Nepal he called his wife who was in Delhi and told her that he had left some money for her.

Yasin who always avoided technology to avoid being tracked however brought about his own downfall thanks to the call he made to his wife.

Friends in ISIS will help me

Yasin is alleged to have said that his friends in Damascus would help him. Damascus is a reference to the ISIS. Yasin claims to have made friends in Damascus where the ISIS is extremely strong. He tells his wife in the conversation from the Cherlapally central prison in Hyderabad that he would be out of jail soon.

While the intelligence bureau is verifying this call, there is also a probe launched to find out who had provided him with a cell phone. The jail has reported similar incidents in the past as well where high profile criminals were given cell phones.

In some cases however investigators intentionally send in a cell phone into jail so that they are able to tab conversations of the accused and pick up leads.

Yasin Bhatkal is desperate to escape

The many officers who have interrogated him from the National Investigating Agency tell OneIndia that he is a man in a hurry. He always wanted to get out of jail as soon as possible. He showed intent of joining the ISIS battle in Syria several times during the questioning.

He was part of the group within the IM which broke away from the main stream. He was part of the same group headed by Sultan Armar who launched the Ansar-ut-Tawhid. Yasin had big plans for the Ansar too and during his interrogation he had suggested many times that he will be out soon.

There was also a similar incident when he was lodged in Delhi. He was overheard speaking to someone about how there would be a hijack which would be executed and his release would be sought in exchange for the passengers. It was found that the IM had been wanting to replicate an IC-814 incident.
