Love knows no barriers...literally! Woman leaves USA to marry Indian chaul-dweller

Ahmedabad, April 30: This may be an old story, but it continues to dwell in the cloud space even now. Love known no bounds, we had heard, but seeing this couple, one soon realises that the saying is not hypothetical.

Tammy, a 41 year old American woman fell in love with 21-year old Hitesh Chavda over Facebook. But her love for him strengthened when he was brutally honest about his poverty and employment status. A class 12 pass out, Hitesh was an orphan too and stayed in a tinroofed shanty in a chawl in east Ahmedabad's Amraiwadi.

Surprisingly, Tammy left all her luxuries in the USA and has adjusted herself to Hitesh's 2 bedroom space-measuring 5x5 and 10x10 feet.

Tammy said, "Hitesh does not have money but money cannot buy happiness. My husband loves me and that is what matters most. People here say Hitesh cannot speak English but if you ask me he speaks fluent English as we understand each other completely."

The couple married in a small temple in Chotila and have applied for th eregistration of their marriage under Special Marriages Act.

Meanwhile, Hitesh says, "I do not wish to settle in the US. Tammy will come back and we will start a small business selling probably local farsaan."
