SC to hear Salman's blackbuck case today
New Delhi, Sept 5: The Supreme Court will hear the 1998 black buck poaching case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan today. Khan, on August 27, had filed an affidavit in the SC appealing for a stay on his conviction in the case.

As one of the highest tax payers in the country, it is his fundamental right to practice his occupation which requires him to travel around the world, Salman argued in the affidavit.

Earlier, on Rajasthan Government's plea challenging a High Court decision which had stayed Khan's conviction in the blackbuck hunting case, SC had issued a notice to him. The Rajasthan High Court had, on November 12 2013, stayed Salman's 2006 conviction in the case. The stay order helped him apply for a British visa.
