The Shiv Sena on Wednesday criticised self-declared 'gau rakshaks' and questioned Who are these gau rakshaks who beat up innocents?.

Gau Rakshaks are Pakistani conspiracy

Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said,''Who are these Gau rakshaks who beat up innocents? Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi is asking this repeatedly. These are not real gau rakshaks.''

Raut also said,''Does Pakistan through one of its conspiracies again wants to trigger Hindu-Muslim riots in India?.''

Modi has surrendered to gau rakshaks: Saamana Editorial

In an editorial in mouthpiece Saamana, Shiv Sena has questioned the "free run" for cow vigilantes from "Delhi to Nagpur". The scathing editorial comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke against cow vigilantism at an all-party meeting and put the onus to act on the states. The reference to Nagpur is an apparent jibe at the RSS, the BJP's ideological fount, which is headquartered in the Maharashtra city.

"It seems like Modi has surrendered before gaurakshaks. It is appalling that the gaurakshaks take law in their hands and beat up a person," the editorial said.

The Shiv Sena and the BJP are in alliance in the state but have shared an uncomfortable relationship. They had parted ways in the civic polls held earlier this year.

The editorial in Saamana comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke out against cow vigilantism at an all-party meeting, and put the onus on the states to act.
