PM Modi eats lunch in Parliament canteen for Rs 29, surprises everyone
New Delhi, Mar 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known for doing things which at times surprises everyone. In a similar move, PM Modi on Monday made a sudden visit to the Parliament's canteen and surprised everyone including the canteen staff.
The Prime Minister not only visited the canteen but also had his lunch there. He was joined by some MPs in having lunch in the Parliament's canteen which is meant for Parliamentarians.
Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to Room number 70 on the first floor of the Parliament building and took lunch there.
If sources are to be believed then he had a vegetarian thali and made the payment for the same himself. The vegetarian platter consisted of sarson ka saag, aloo subji, rajma, rice, roti and curd (spinach, salad, pulses and curry vegetable).
Reports say, for the veg platter which PM had in his lunch, he paid Rs 29.
PM Modi also mingled with MPs present there and chatted with them.
After having his lunch, PM Modi signed the visitor's book and wrote a comment in which he thanked the "Annadata (provider)."
The Parliament canteen is famous for serving highly subsidised food for the MPs, journalists and the Parliament staff.
