When Omar Abdullah wanted Guj RS votes counted faster than demonetised currency
The counting was delayed after the Congress decided to move the Election Commission seeking the invalidation of two votes.
The entire nation watched with keen interest, the Rajya Sabha elections held in Gujarat on Tuesday. There was palpable tension and drama in the run up to the results which came out in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The impatience of the politicians and press was alike. One person on twitter even went on to message Ahmed Patel. He said please whatsapp me the result, I am going to sleep.
Omar Abdullah, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir too had a nice take on the delayed results. He tweeted, "I hope the guys in Gujarat count these votes faster than the RBI has been counting demonetised notes, since it is way past my bed time."

The counting was delayed after the Congress decided to move the Election Commission seeking the invalidation of two votes. The party alleged that the two Congress rebels had not only cross voted, but shown the ballot paper to BJP chief Amit Shah, which itself was a violation of secrecy.
The ECI ruled in the favour of the Congress following which the two votes were invalidated. This helped Ahmed Patel enter the Rajya Sabha for the fifth time.
