When Kejriwal frantically called and Ved Prakash surfaced at the BJP office
The AAP is looking to recover from its loss in Goa and Punjab. The MCD elections on April 23 is crucial for the party.
On Monday, a key leader of the Aam Aadmi Party joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Ved Prakash, an AAP legislator switched over to the BJP, alleging that his party had faltered while delivering promises it had made.

AAP chief and Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal got wind of the fact that Prakash was set to join the BJP. It was a jolt for Kejriwal who is preparing for the crucial municipal corporation elections.
Kejriwal is believed to have called Prakash frantically in a bid to stop him from joining the BJP. The AAP was readying for a press conference when it got the news that Prakash was set to ditch them and join the BJP. Several calls were made to Prakash, but he did not answer any of them.
To the surprise of the AAP leaders, they saw Prakash on television when he surfaced at the BJP's office. It appears that Prakash had already made up his mind to join the BJP and hence did not answer any calls from Kejriwal or other leaders of the AAP.
On April 23, Delhi would elect the 272 members of its municipal corporation. For the AAP, a victory would be crucial especially after its losses in Punjab and Goa. The BJP, on the other hand is hoping to continue its winning streak after bagging big victories in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
