New Delhi, July 27: You may not have idea why prisoners of Pune's Yerawada Central Jail have got big smile on their face these days.The reason being that their companion and inmate Sanjay Dutt has decided to entertain them with his antics.
Bollywood actor Dutt who did Radio Jockey's role in his film Lage raho Munna Bhai is playing it in real life too.
According to a India Today report, Sanjay Dutt who was selected as one of the two RJs by jail authorities is enjoying his new role these days. Prisoners get opportunity to hear him out every day from 12 noon to 1 pm .
Star who does show both in English, Hindi and at times in Marathi speaks like this, "Good Afternoon! Welcome to Radio YCP, mai hu aap ke saath aap ka RJ Sanjay Dutt". Not only he host the programme, but he also writes script for the same with the help of other prisoners.
The radio programme was launched last year in the month of November.
Speaking on the move, YCP jail superintendent Yogesh Desai was quoted by Indian Express as saying, "On some days, there will be interviews of personalities invited to our studio.There will be songs on demand and a programme where we will try to solve problems faced by inmates with help of counsellors. The questions will be read out without naming the inmate. The jockeys have been selected after auditions".
The 55-year-old actor is undergoing the remainder of his five-year jail term in Pune's jail. He has been accused for possessing illegal firearms that was part of a cache of weapons meant to be used during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Apart from doing RJ work, actor makes paper bag too in the jail.
