Kolkata, March 28: In the backdrop of recent arrest of two Bangladeshi nationals in connection with Ranaghat nun gangrape case, West Bengal governor KN Tripathi on Saturday said that Centre and the state must work together to curb infiltration.

"Look this is a very serious problem... And the Central government and the state government must jointly look into it and take all the necessary measures to stop infiltration of the Bangladeshis," Tripathi told reporters on the sidelines of a programme.

The CID has arrested two persons, both Bangladeshi nationals, one from Habra in North 24 Parganas district and the other from Mumbai, in connection with the gangrape of a 71-year-old nun at a convent school in Ranaghat that caused a nationwide outrage.

West Bengal figured prominently on the terror map in 2014 after a deep-rooted module of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was unearthed in the state following the October 2 Burdwan blast in which two suspected terrorists were killed.
