We are family: Sasikala takes nephew to meet governor
TTV Dinkaran’s presence at the governor’s at a time when Sasikala’s family is being accused of making a backdoor entry to Poes Gardens has only added anger towards the Mannargudi family
AIADMK interim general secretary Sasikala Natarajan met the governor with senior party functionaries on Thursday. The person who caught everyone's attention however, was neither a party functionary nor a government servant. TTV Dinakaran, Sasikala's nephew and more importantly an accused in a Foreign Exchange Regulation Act case by the Enforcement Directorate sat by his aunt while meeting Governor Vidhyasagar Rao.
Dinakaran accompanying Sasikala for a party issue while AIADMK is a divided house only fuelled speculations of the Mannargudi family's sway in the part after Jayalalithaa's death. Dinakaran will face trial in a two-decade old FERA case in which Sasikala is also an accused.
His visit to the governor's residence for party matters has only increased insecurity among party cadres more so since Jayalalithaa had personally ousted Sasikala's family members from Poes Garden and had ensured that Sasikala cut off all ties with them. Many have been alleging that Sasikala's family has made a backdoor entry into Poes Garden after Jayalalithaa's death and Dinakaran's presence among the 10 AIADMK leaders when Sasikala met the governor has only added to the anger at the Mannargudi family.
