New Delhi, Feb 22: The Supreme court on Monday slammed Delhi Govt for approaching the apex court to sort out ongoing water crisis in the national capital.
Rebuking Arvind Kejriwal Government, Court said that issue needs to be resolved with coordination with central government.
A bench headed by Chief Justice T S Thakur said, "You people instead of solving the problem at government- to-government level are moving to Supreme Court. You want order from the Supreme Court. You want everything on the platter".
Referring to Kapil Mishra, who is water minister under AAP government, the bench further said, "You ministers are sitting in the court instead of going to the field. You rest in AC chambers and you want order from the court."
The Court also asked Haryana government to file status report over the plea of Delhi government.
The SC also directed Manohar Lal Khattar led BJP government to resolve the issue and resume water supply to Delhi.
Earlier, on saturday, the Delhi government moved the Supreme Court over the sudden water crisis in the capital due to the Jat agitation in Haryana.
"Delhi government moves SC on water crisis. Petition accepted. Likely to be heard on Sunday morning," Delhi`s Water Minister Kapil Mishra tweeted.
"Extraordinary situation. First time seven plants closed down. No piped water supply possible after tomorrow morning in 60 percent city including NDMC, Mishra said in another tweet.
