AAP still favourite of Delhities? Kejriwal's party got record donations in last two days
New Delhi, Jan 17: This will be little disappointing for all those who are rejoicing with recent influxes in the BJP. At a time when people started writing off for the AAP as number of their former colleagues joined Saffron party, this news will give all of them a big shock.
Reportedly the Aam Aadmi Party got record donation (Rs 64 lakh) on the day when former IPS officer Kiran bedi joined the BJP which proves that the support base for the party is further growing. If ET report is to be believed then in the last two days it has been a five time increase in party fund collections.
Sources say that AAP has received fund of around Rs 1 crore in last two days which is huge sum of money in comparison to Rs 9 lakh collected by party in two weeks of January.
When asked about the reason for this sudden raining of the money, AAP leader Somnath Bharti as quoted by the ET said, "The party has gained whenever there has seen something of big proportion happening, be it Modi's rally this month, when we had record collections or when Arvind went to Jail. This is unprecedented and I have no doubt that people must have taken note of BJP importing people who were once part of our movement".
On Friday former member of AAP Shazia Ilmi joined Modi brigade, only a day after first female IPS officer Kiran Bedi came to the BJP.
