Vyapam scam: Now a trainee woman cop dead

Bhopal, July 6: Even as the mystery around a series of deaths related to the notorious Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh gets murkier, another case of suicide was registered today.

A trainee woman sub-inspector, Anamika Kushwaha, was found dead in a pond under mysterious circumstances. The body was recovered today.

Recruited in February 2015 through Vyapam, she was residing in a hostel in the Sagar Police Academy in Madhya Pradesh.

Interestingly, this is the third death reported in the past three days-beginning investigative journalist Akshay Singh who breathed his last on Saturday when he had gone to interview the family of a deceased Vyapam scam accused. Reports suggested that he fainted suddenly after facial contortion.

Later, on Sunday, the body of Arun Sharma, the dean of Jabalpur's NS Medical College was found in a hotel near the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport under mysterious circumstances.

Even as MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured SIT probe into each of the deaths, Congress demands CBI's intervention.

Meanwhile, the SIT probing into the cases said that 23 deceased died mysteriously. The most high profile death registered was that of Shailesh Yadav, son of Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, who was found dead in his father's house in Mall Avenue area of Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow on March 25, 2015.
