Bhopal, July 17: Call it a sign, but CBI will have its new office in Bhopal at a haunted bungalow. Bungalow B-10 at professors colony is known for its paranormal activity and hence has been named the 'Bhoot Bungalow'. The bad name was acquired after a series of mishaps relating untimely demise of family members and government officials.
CBI, however, cares less and has decided to open its office here from where it will investigate the Vyapam case. In fact, local administrations too have not been able to open offices here for several reasons.
And so the bungalow remained unoccupied for several years. The last person to reside here was Madhya Pradesh education minister Laxman Singh Gaud, who also died in a car crash on February 11, 2008.
A Panchayat office was opened after his death, but that too did not work as the CEO of Bhopal district Panchayat was seen in a compromising situation at the office.
A senior estate development officer, however, shows a positive side to the CBI having its office here. "perhaps CBI's presence will bust the negative myths and tales once for all."
